"Guardian's Keep is an awesome book. How can you go wrong? Chemical weapons, conspiracy, diving, exotic locations, the wanna-be bad guy that is really insane and the monologuing bad guy that claims he won't be caught monologuing. Awesome!" Jon Rusho

I recently read and very much enjoyed Guardians Keep. You need to pay close attention during the introduction or you will miss some of the connections, BUT the book is very well written, and Eric has a great aptitude for bringing the characters and action alive. I do not usually write book reviews, but I feel compelled to tell my divebuddies to go ahead and read Eric's books, you will enjoy them. I put Eric in the same category as my favorite author Clive Cussler. Clay from Underwater Connection, Jackson , NJ
Flooding Hollywood
Criminals in Los Angeles are using a dive operation to smuggle illegal drugs into the City of Angels . Or are they up to something more sinister? It is up to photographer Mike Scott to figure it out. And he has to do it before disaster strikes the heart of the city. Beginning as a simple photo shoot to capture glamorous images of an actress enjoying the sport she loves–scuba diving around Santa Catalina Island–things quickly turn serious. Before it all ends, the two will face danger and fanaticism in the Hollywood Hills.
Flooding Hollywood pits photographer Mike Scott against a group of fanatics bent on destroying Hollywood. The story begins with Mike Scott on a photo shoot with up and coming actress Diane Taylor. They decide to combine some personal recreation with the shoot and spend a couple days scuba diving in an around Santa Catalina Island, off the coast of southern California. On a dive, Scott witnesses another diver picking up stray packages underwater. He doesn't think much about it the first day, but when it happens two days in a row, it gets his mind going. Assuming the divers are smuggling drugs into the city, Scott tips off the police. That act of curiosity and initiative places Scott on a collision course with fanatics bent on imposing their will on the city of Los Angeles. Set underwater around Catalina Island and around the city of Los Angeles, Flooding Hollywood takes readers on a ride from LA Harbor to the Hollywood hills on a fast-paced ride of intrigue.

"This clear and concise reference is the most up-to-date source of information on the market. Divers should never leave home without a copy of Scuba Diving Safety in their dive bag." -- Alex Brylske, Senior Editor, Dive Training magazine
- I am so glad you placed so much emphasis on rescue training. I do a lot of the Scuba BSA program and it is interesting to talk to Boy Scouts about rescue with respects to Lifesaving merit badge. I ask them what is the greatest save that can be made. After several answers they finally see that the greatest save is the one you never had to make because, to quote Barney Fife, "Ya nip it in the bud". I am a firm believer that rescue training prepares a diver to recognize and interupt the sequence of events to prevent the need for a save.-- Lindsay Peterson, Land Shark Divers Hotel
- It does say on the cover that it is the survival guide - it really is. I read quite a few rescue diver manuals, but this completes it. From the planning to the equipment to the environment to the first aid, everything is technically covered. There are some sections that provide some tips on diving skills, and dive professionals should pay attentions to them as those little things can save a lot of your time and your students' in the class while you actually are passing important dive safety tips down to them. Overall, I'd recommend this book to all divers as this is easy to read comparing to other dive safety books out there that make my head scratch, but I'd highly recommend to all rescue-level divers that want to extend their knowledge in overall dive safety, and instructors should definitely use this book as a reference and addition to your dive safety related courses and encourage your students to obtain a copy. They say that the knowledge is a power, but it really is. -- Kei Shimada, Dive Instructor
Cayman Cowboys
Action, adventure, intrigue and the environment all come into play in this novel by author Eric Douglas. Set on Grand Cayman, a diving must-visit for many divers, this book highlights the beautiful locations and touches on the potential for abuse as the environment and development fall into conflict. Diving in Grand Cayman, magazine photographer Mike Scott notices a series of unusual occurrences including the death of a girl, a protest of new development and the systematic destruction of coral reefs. It all comes together when armed men warn him away from a dive site. Investigating, he witnesses a specially-equipped submarine destroying the reef. Before he is able to report the destruction to the authorities, he and his dive buddy, Kelly, are kidnapped – along with Kelly's girlfriend Tanya. Friends rescue Mike and Tanya, but the assassin gets away with Kelly, taking him to an underwater diving bell to die. Now it's a race against time to save Kelly and bring down the greedy developer putting his own wealth before the beauty of the island and the welfare of the people.
